Zosia Kilmartin

DIRECTOR LLB, Grad Dip Legal Prac

Zosia practices in litigation and dispute resolution and has a particular interest in employment law, family law and general litigation. Prior to founding Kilmartin Knyvett Lawyers, practiced law at a prominent Queensland law firm where she was a Senior Associate in the litigation and dispute resolution team.

Zosia has been admitted to practice as a solicitor since 2011 and has extensive experience advising upon and appearing in proceedings across all State and Federal Courts and tribunals.

Outside law, Zosia enjoys following politics and she is also a classically trained singer. Zosia also speaks Polish with full professional proficiency.

Steve Knyvett

DIRECTOR LLB (Hons), B Int Bus, Grad Dip Legal Prac

Steve practices in the areas of litigation and dispute resolution. Prior to founding Kilmartin Knyvett Lawyers, Steve has had a varied portfolio of matters and clients across a number of jurisdictions and legal backgrounds.

While Steve has a particular interest in personal injury litigation arising from over 15 years’ experience in the field, his experience has seen him act for a wide spectrum of clients with a wide range of legal problems and needs. 

From contractual disputes and insolvency matters, estate litigation and guardianship matters, to compensation claims and regulatory reviews; Steve believes in partnering with his clients to provide considered and commercially astute advice to achieve targeted results. 

Outside of law, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and two children. Steve continues to play soccer and can also be found on a Saturday morning coaching his son’s junior team.

Ashleigh Montgomery

ASSOCIATE LLB, Grad Dip Legal Prac, B Jus, Registered Migration Agent 1465387

Ashleigh has a civil practice, primarily in the areas of migration law, personal injuries and compensation matters. Since her admission as a solicitor in 2013, Ashleigh has gained a broad range of experience in both private practice and in the corporate sector, with a consistent focus on a personal services portfolio.

Ashleigh enjoys guiding her clients through each step of the legal process and ensuring the focus remains on protecting their best interests.

Outside of law, Ashleigh enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children.

Karolinka Kilmartin

SENIOR ASSOCIATE LLB, Grad Dip Legal Prac

Karolinka is a family lawyer who has a broad practice in divorce proceedings, parenting arrangements, child support, property settlement and domestic violence matters.

Karolinka also represents clients in international family law cases, having acted in matters falling under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Karolinka has a particular interest in resolving family disputes through mediation and believes that it can be a successful alternative to litigation.

Karolinka supports her clients whenever they experience a change to their family circumstances by advising on and preparing wills, enduring powers of attorney and structuring family trusts.

Karolinka understands that the law can be stressful, and prides herself on making her clients feel comfortable and relaxed whilst providing the highest quality of legal assistance.

Outside of law, Karolinka enjoys travel and spending time with her husband and family.

Brian Kilmartin

CONSULTANT BA (Hons), LLB, Grad Dip Legal Prac, Grad Dip ThSt

Prior to joining Kilmartin Knyvett Lawyers, Brian served as a Magistrate in Queensland from 2006 until 2021, primarily in the domestic and family violence jurisdiction.

Before his appointment to the Magistrates Court, Brian was in partner in private practice with a focus on industrial law, compensation and personal injuries.

In addition, Brian served on the Queensland Law Society Council for 13 years and was Chairman of the Legal Aid Board. Brian enjoys all aspects of the law and having long term client relationships.

Outside work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and is studying a Master of Laws.
